Forum “How could we envision a festival amidst this Coronavirus pandemic?”
新型コロナ・パンデミックの真っ只中で、最も深刻な影響を受けている分野の一つが、ライブや舞台芸術のコミュニティです。アジアのいくつかの都市では、物理的な距離を置くことが厳しく規定されており、一般の人が現実の世界で集まることが制限されているため、アーティストや、その上演の舞台を提供するプラットフォームは危機的な状況にあります。
このような状況の中、Creators’ Cradle Circuit (3Cs)では、アーティスト、プロデューサーや舞台芸術関連団体がフェスティバルの未来をどのように構想できるのか、という問いに取り組んでいます。
Karakoaのメンバーであるアンドレイ・ニコライ・パミントゥアン（Fringe Manila Festival – フィリピン）とワイラ・アマタタンマチャド（Low Fat Art Fes – タイ）に、岸本佳子（BUoY – 日本）を迎え、現代舞台芸術のためのフェスティバルを主宰し、アートスペースの運営を担う3名が、それぞれの現在、そして将来のプロジェクトについて語ります。
In the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic, one of the most severely affected sectors is the live and performing arts community. With strict physical distancing provisions in some cities across Asia and the limitations on public gatherings IRL, the artists and the platforms that exists to provide a stage for performances are in crisis.
In these circumstances, the Creators’ Cradle Circuit (3Cs) tackles how artists, producers, and organizations envision the future of festivals.
Karakoa members Andrei Nikolai Pamintuan (Fringe Manila Festival – Philippines) and Wayla Amatathammachad (Low Fat Art Fes – Thailand) are joined by Kako Kishimoto (BUoY Arts Centre Tokyo – Japan), all of whom lead festivals or manage art spaces for contemporary performing arts, to talk about their current and future projects.
Following their presentation, the all 3Cs curators, artists and participants will have a sharing session about the possibilities of the future festival at 3Cs.

アーツ・エクスチェンジでは、3Cs参加アーティストが、3C Work In Progressでの創作過程をオンラインで公開します。遠隔コミュニケーションという新しい現実に対応しながら、新しい創作に向けたアイデアを実現するための挑戦です。
The 3Cs artists will conduct this online arts exchange to open up their creation process in the 3Cs Work In Progress. As responding to our new reality with distanced communication, they will push through their challenge of developing new ideas for the new creation into realization.

ポスト・エクスチェンジ・ディスカッションでは、日本の舞台芸術研究者、批評家らが3Csに参加するアーティストやキュレーターとともに、アーツ・エクスチェンジにおける実験的な芸術実践やその創作過程についてディスカッションをします。
In the Post-Exchange Discussions, Japanese performing arts researchers and critics will discuss with the artists and curators participating in the 3Cs to respond to their experimental art practices and its creative process in the Arts Exchange.

What is Creators’ Cradle Circuit？
Karakoaが主催する越境型移動舞台芸術祭「Creators’ Cradle Circuit」(3Cs)は、アジアの若手舞台芸術家と制作者が共に越境し集い、アジア諸都市を移動しながら作品を育て、新たな舞台芸術の価値や表現を実験するプラットフォーム構築を目的としています。3Csの実現に向けて、2018-19年度は、ソロ（インドネシア）とマニラ（フィリピン）を巡り、2019-20年度は、東南アジアと日本の若手アーティストと共同し、クアラルンプール（マレーシア）、東京（日本）、バンコク（タイ）についてリサーチします。このプロセスをワーク・イン・プログレスとして広く共有しながら、コミュニティとの対話を通してフェスティバルを作り上げていく試みです。今年度の活動は、COVID-19感染拡大が広がる中、感染予防対策として社会的距離を遵守するため、インターネットを活用した各地域の有識者とのオンラインミーティングやライブ配信されるパブリックフォーラム、そのほか活動の記録映像の配信を中心とするデジタルプラットフォームの構築にも取り組んでいます。
The transnational mobile festival, Creators’ Cradle Circuit (3Cs) organised by Karakoa aims to create the platform
for the emerging Asian creators that move across Asian cities to develop their original works through experimenting
new value and expression of performing arts. In 2018-2019, Karakoa visited Solo (Indonesia) and Manila (Philippines). In 2019-2020, Karakoa will research about the performing arts ecosystem in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Tokyo (Japan), and Bangkok (Thailand) with emerging artists from Southeast Asia and Japan. The artistic practices and processes will be widely shared as Works-In-Progress. They aim to explore the way to create the festival through the dialogue with the community through the sharing. In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Karakoa will create a digital space in order to comply with social distancing provisions, as well as investigate and exchange what is going on in the contemporary performing arts scene in the three cities above.

Karakoaは、インドネシア、タイ、日本、フィリピン、マレーシアを拠点とするインディペンデントのプロデューサー、キュレーター、アートマネージャーらが2018年5月に結成したアートコレクティブです。アジアと東南アジア地域の国境を多国籍に横断する文化交流を促進し、そのネットワークのハブ機能の創出と、同時代のアートの実践やプロセスを社会と共有するための環境整備、そして進化するコンテンポラリーアートの新しい芸術的価値を発掘することを目指しています。
Karakoa is a collective established in May 2018 by independent producers, curators, and arts managers from Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. This collective aims to create intersections of networks to facilitate transnational cultural exchanges by focusing in Asia and Southeast Asia; provide a space for sharing contemporary artistic practices and processes with society; and uncover new artistic values in the evolving contemporary arts landscape.
