3Cs 2021 Tokyo: 変異する舞台芸術

この9月の「3Cs 2021 Tokyo: 変異する舞台芸術」は、北千住のアートスペースBUoYが「芸術と抵抗」をテーマに今年から主催するBUoYフェスティバルの一環として開催される。新型コロナ感染の拡大で移動制限が拡大される今、加速度的にリアルとデジタルに分断されていく私たちの世界に焦点を当て、その２つの異なる世界を舞台芸術のメソッドを活用しながら、東京のコラボレーターたちと共に国や地域、領域を縦横無尽に横断し、再び「つなげる」ことを試みます。海外のアーティストは日本には来られないが、各チームはオンライン映像作品をインターネット上で発表すると同時に、東京のコラボレーターとの共同リサーチ・創作を進め、北千住BUoYで、演劇、サウンドインスタレーション、レクチャー・パフォーマンスなどを実施。各アーティストが展開してきたプロジェクトの成果をみせる。会期中には2回、日本の批評家が、アーティストや観客と作品について議論するためのポスト・パフォーマンス・ディスカッションも開催。全コンテンツ、ライブ配信も行う。

This September’s “3Cs 2021 Tokyo: Mutation of Performing Arts” will be held as part of the BUoY Festival, organized the first edition this year by BUoY Art Center in Kitasenju, Tokyo, under the theme of “Art and Resistance”. With the spread of the new corona infection, the travel restriction is expanding. We focus on our world, which is acceleratingly divided into real and digital, and set the stage in those two different worlds. We aim to “reconnect” these two other worlds across countries, regions, and genres with collaborators in Tokyo using the performing arts methods. Although the overseas artists cannot come to Japan, each team will present their online video works via the internet, and at the same time, they will conduct joint research and creation with collaborators in Tokyo and hold theater, sound installations, or lecture performances at BUoY. Each artist will show the results of the projects they have been developing. Two post-performance discussions also will be held with Japanese critics to discuss the works with artists and audiences. All contents will be broadcast live.

*The box office will open 30 mins prior to the start of the performance. The doors open 10mins prior to the start of the performance.

*The session will be conducted in Japanese and English at BUoY. (A part of the session is only in Japanese.)

*We ask for your cooperation in preventing the spread of the new coronavirus by wearing masks, sanitizing your hand and temperature check or so.

*No one with cold symptoms or whose temperature is above 37.5 degrees Celsius will be admitted.

*The event will be shot for live streaming, photo and video documentation.

*All sessions will be broadcast live on Karakoa YouTube page available viewing free for those who have registered.

*Same-day tickets will be accepted at the venue if there is availability.

Creators’ Cradle Circuitについて

What is Creators’ Cradle Circuit？

Karakoaが主催する越境型移動舞台芸術祭「Creators’ Cradle Circuit」(3Cs)は、アジアの若手舞台芸術家と制作者が共に越境し集い、アジア諸都市を移動しながら作品を育て、新たな舞台芸術の価値や表現を実験するプラットフォーム構築を目的としています。3Csの実現に向けて、2018-19年度は、ソロ（インドネシア）とマニラ（フィリピン）を巡り、2019-20年度は、東南アジアと日本の若手アーティストと共同し、クアラルンプール（マレーシア）、東京（日本）、バンコク（タイ）についてリサーチします。このプロセスをワーク・イン・プログレスとして広く共有しながら、コミュニティとの対話を通してフェスティバルを作り上げていく試みです。今年度の活動は、COVID-19感染拡大が広がる中、感染予防対策として社会的距離を遵守するため、インターネットを活用した各地域の有識者とのオンラインミーティングやライブ配信されるパブリックフォーラム、そのほか活動の記録映像の配信を中心とするデジタルプラットフォームの構築にも取り組んでいます。

The transnational mobile festival, Creators’ Cradle Circuit (3Cs) organised by Karakoa aims to create the platform for the emerging Asian creators that move across Asian cities to develop their original works through experimenting new value and expression of performing arts. In 2018-2019, Karakoa visited Solo (Indonesia) and Manila (Philippines). In 2019-2020, Karakoa will research about the performing arts ecosystem in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Tokyo (Japan), and Bangkok (Thailand) with emerging artists from Southeast Asia and Japan. The artistic practices and processes will be widely shared as Works-In-Progress. They aim to explore the way to create the festival through the dialogue with the community through the sharing. In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Karakoa will create a digital space in order to comply with social distancing provisions, as well as investigate and exchange what is going on in the contemporary performing arts scene in the three cities above.

Karakoa is a collective established in May 2018 by independent producers, curators, and arts managers from Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand.
